Research in AMS
Research areas within the department include scattering theory, numerical analysis, mathematical finance, symbolic computing, wave propagation, biostatistics, seismic data processing, and educational assessment.
The departmental research groups include
- Assessment and Evaluation in Education - a mathematics education group formed to improve the methodologies used by evaluators in the assessment of educational interventions in the sciences.
- AMS Statistics - a statistics group whose general interests lie in the area of the application of statistics to the physical sciences.
