Tenured and Tenure-Track Professor, Data Science and Statistics

The Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (AMS) at the Colorado School of Mines (Mines) is seeking applicants for two faculty positions with expertise in the fields of Data Science and Statistics.

The first position is tenured or tenure-track open rank, while the second position is tenure-track at the rank of Assistant Professor. The positions require high-quality, academic teaching experience in data science and statistics at the intersection of theory and substantive applications, as well as a research focus on modeling and computation.

Adjunct Faculty

The Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at the Colorado School of Mines (Mines) invites applications for instructors for introductory level coordinated courses in the department. These courses include MATH 111 Calculus I, MATH 112 Calculus II, MATH 201 Probability and Statistics for Scientists and Engineers, MATH 213 Calculus III Multivariable Calculus, MATH 225 Differential Equations, and MATH 307 Introduction to Scientific Computing (with MATLAB programming). Adjunct faculty are hired per semester, have opportunities to teach up to three or four courses each semester, and will have use of a designated office space (possibly shared). All the listed courses are taught in a coordinated setting which includes use of the common homework and exams, as well as a common course calendar and learning objectives. At a minimum, adjunct faculty participate in group grading for course exams and will perform other grading duties depending on the course. All course materials and student communications are managed using the learning management system Canvas.
